OsmoBSC

OsmoBSC

OsmoBSC existed as one flavor of OpenBSC since 2011. In 2017, we have revamped it and added various new features, including support for 3GPP AoIP. In terms of BTS/Abis dialect support, it primarily supports OsmoBTS, but we have also added support for the specific Abis dialects of certain Nokia, Siemens and Ericsson BTS in the past. sysmocom puts customer requirements first. You can use OsmoBSC not only with OsmoBTS / sysmoBTS, but we can port it to interoperate with any of your existing deployed BTS equipment.

For the connection towards the Core Network / MSC, OsmoBSC implements 3GPP AoIP over M3UA in an ASP role. Depending on your MSC and SS7 network configuration, this could terminate directly in your MSC, connect to an existing STP you may have, or you can use our OsmoSTP for that.

We can offer the OsmoBSC software (with or without other core network elements) as an appliance based on the sysmoCNA. At your option, we can integrate + support OsmoBSC also on any other Linux Server, VM or Container / Cloud platform.

Like all sysmocom cellular network infrastructure elements, OsmoBSC can be provided either in source code format (C code for Linux), as binary packages for Debian and Ubuntu GNU/Linux distributions. Upon request, we can also prepare packages for other Linux distributions or container images, e.g. Docker or Kubernetes.

sysmocom is offering different support levels for the Osmocom based cellular network elements. This gives you the trust to get support to your needs in the most effective and economic way.
